Just bought a Behringer T-1 Condenser mic(which is great BTW) and want to connect it direct to the BR600 rather than going through my Yamaha Stageplus 500 Mixer to overdub some vocals.

Can anyone advise the best way to do this... the mic came with its own preamp and the output from the preamp is a three pin xlr and the input on the BR600 is a 1/4 jack... I tried connecting from the preamp but could get no level on the BR600 ??

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated..... smile)

I assume the preamp of the Behringer takes care of all the phantom powering for the mic itself.
As you've had no issues with the Yamaha mixer all is well with the microphone.

The mic inputs of the the BR can accept a balanced input.
You will need a XLR to 1/4 TRS (Tip Ring Sleeve) jack lead.
Pin 1 of the XLR is wired to the Sleeve of the jack.
Pin 2 of the XLR is the tip of the jack.
Pin 3 of the XLR is the ring connection of the jack.

It looks as if the preamp is working at mic level, so even though it's a preamp, you still may need to turn up the BR's trim control to match.

Hi,

Your BR600 came with an adaptor cable, which is male jack to female xlr. You may use a normal XLR-XLR cable to connect your mic preamp to this and it should work fine. If you don't have the adaptor, use a XLR-Balanced Jack lead as suggested abve by S-E-A.
