Hi

New here, and have rcvd an HD 1 for christmas{ been in named bands playing bass and guitar for years} decided ive always wanted to play drums but find that the Hd-1s set is very small and somewhat useless with no programming and proper sounds available.
I have a DR 3 and am able to trigger most of the kits via midi however tom tom 3 transmits on midi 10 43 and the pad assignment on the DR3 for this is 10 41.
Anybody know if there is a work around as neither of these 2 products seem able to have there assignments changed.

Thanks

You could download a freeware/shareware program called midi-ox which would allow you to receive incoming note messages on Channel 10, note 43, and retransmit them as Channel 10 note 41. You will need a midi interface for your PC to do this. Download this at www.midiox.com

Alternatively you could purchase a midi box capable of this type of event change. A number of niche manufacturers offer such devices, but I have no experience of using any of them. They would however, not require a PC to be connected.

Hi Thanks for that, however anyone know of any non usb versions i basicly want an external module for when im playing and paractising live?.

I have been looking at a Philip Rees c16 long out of production but looks like it will do the job.

Thanks very much

After many hours of messing around ive sold the Boss DR 3 and come to the conclusion after reading a few other threads on the HD 1 that the original programming and assignment number of Tom Tom 3 to number 43 is a cock up by Roland.
Every other external drum module i have looked at appears to have Tom 3 assign to 41...........so why Roland?.

I have now gone for an old Alesis SR16 where i can program the numbers, and maybe upgrade to an SR18 soon.
