The TD-6V by default sends midi note information on MIDI channel 10. Connect a MIDI cable from the MIDI OUT of the TD-6 module and connect to the MIDI IN of the Edirol UA-25. Logic will not see or display the TD-6 module as a device but a MIDI device called ‘Edirol UA-25’ should be displayed in the Logic MIDI device settings, ensure this is selected, if not the drivers for the UA-25 will need to be reinstalled (please refer to the CD that came with the Edirol UA-25) . Once the UA-25 is setup as a MIDI device in Logic, insert a midi track, set the MIDI input device in the tracks as the UA-25 and the midi receive channel as 10. The UA-25 acts a communication device from the TD-6 to the UA-25. Play the drums and you should see and be able to record the incoming midi data. If you need guidance on how to setup a midi interface device and midi tracks channel in Logic please contact Apple.

Thanks for getting back to me. I'm having problems with the UA 25 drivers (installed from the CD). Although I've uninstalled/ installed them the Edirol is not being displayed in Logic MIDI device settings. I ve tried installing an update from the Roland website and that will not install at all. When I use an M Audio keystaion pro 88 as a midi thru the v kit is being picked up as a midi deveice. When i hit the drums I get sounds (when i insert a midi track) but not when i insert an external midi instrument.

Please download the following and run the application "CLEANALL".

ftp://ftp.roland.co.uk/ProductSupport/DownloadsAndUpdates/Clean_All.zip

This will uninstall all Roland/Edirol/Boss drivers. Disconnected the UA-25 when prompted on screen and restart the computer. Run the driver installation for the UA-25 from the download I have placed below and reconnect the UA-25, this should solve it.

The CLEANALL app is for Windows XP/2000. I'm running MAC OS X 10.4.11.

Thanks for your help on this matter. the edirol ua 25 is now appearing in logic and incoming midi data appears to be working. However i still can't get any actual sound in realtime or recorded playback, if I set up the roland as an 'external midi instrument'. Although if I set it up as a 'software instrument', I get sounds using the logic studio drumkit presets although it sounds terrible! Nothing is mapped correctly and I get latency when I try and record along to one or more tracks. Is this as good as it gets?
