64 bits for me. Roland has had plenty of time to adress this, several months.

Hi Guys,

I have had no news on this yet, but have you tried the Vista 64-bit drivers? They do work in windows 7.

Wow I tried it again and this time these drivers worked for me:
http://cms.rolandus.com/assets/media/zip/rd700_vista_64bit_driver_v100.zip

Now running a RD700SX on Windows 7 64bit, recording MIDI into Cubase 5.

I am confused, I am almost sure I already tried those.

From my recollection, if you get an error message during installation, wait a few more seconds then a popup window from windows 7 will appear and give you the otion to reinstall with the original setting (something like that anyway) Choose this option, and it will install the driver again in Vista legacy mode or XP legacy mode. Windows 7 is pretty good at utilising older drivers as I have found out. Try this and you should get it working.

Regards

that doesn't work unfortunatly

I get a pop up saying:-

"The operating system is not supported. Please check the supported Operating Systems. Press OK to cancel"

and then an OK button and nothing else.

Pressing OK just stops the app and nothing else happens....

SOLUTION:

Hi, I ran into all the same problems, but fixed them as follows:

1. Unzip the folder to a location (don't try to open setup.exe inside the zip folder)
2. Rightclick "Setup.exe" ==> Properties ==> 'Compatibility' Tab
3. Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and choose Vista
4. "OK" ==> Run setup ==> It works!

The 64-bit Vista drivers for my RD-300SX work just fine in Windows 7, I have full range of functions.

Good luck, and complain here if this doesn't fix the problem for you.

Roland Corporation Japan has now released 32bit and 64 bit Windows 7 drivers for most of their recent instruments, including RD-700GX and RD-300GX. Please visit the global Roland.com website and you will find the drivers under the "downloads" tab of your synthesizer's product page.
