Hi,

I have a roland rd700gx and am running windows 7 RC. I really need to use my keyboard with a midi connection but I just saw on the roland site that there are no drivers. Does anyone know if/when there will be? also is there anything else I can do to work around this issue?maybe another cable or something?

Thanks

Hi Benski11,

At the moment there are no 64 bit drivers fr the RD700GX, though in future there may be. For a work around you should look at a few Edirol products.

The UM1EX is a usb midi adapter. There is a 64 bit driver for Windows Vista available. This may or may not work with the release candidate of Windows 7.
The UA25EX is a USB audio/midi interface which also has a 64 bit driver for Windows Vista. This may work with Win7RC or may not, but these are probably your best bet at the moment.

Hi,

Some good news. I've got confirmation from Japan that they are currently testing the drivers for

RD-700GX
RD-300GX
RD-700SX
RD-300SX

and they should be released "soon". I'm afraid I can't be any more specific as it depends entirely on the results of testing.

Hi

Is there any way I can be notified when these drivers are available? I am really desperate for them as I dont want to shell out lots of cash for an edirol interface but I cannot connect my keyboard to my computer which is becoming really frustrating.

Is there any way to find out an approximate date for the drivers?

Thanks

Hi,

Nay news on the 64 bit drivers yet? I am getting really desperate. I need to record some music and the fact that windows does not recognise my keyboard is making it really difficult
Thanks

For a reputable company such as Roland you would expect they would take the interests of their customers a little more seriously...Anyone serious about music production uses 64 bit ...I think they would rather we all buy edirol interfaces as it gets them a little more revenue. These drivers are obviously very low priority for Roland

it's frustrating when you see there are x64 drivers for some products, but not others. 64-bit adoption is starting kick-in and is becoming mainstream so it really should become a higher priority now than maybe a year or 2 ago.

The news about the driver testing in Japan sounds promising but that posting was made in June. Surely it can't take this long...

They probably havent started the driver testing...Surely this could all be cleared up by now. If Roland make products for professional musicians, they should provide us with the tools so that we are able to utilize their products to their fullest potential.

Just bought an RD-300GX today, really wanted to use with the TruePianos plugin on Sonar - but no dice, because there isn't a Vista 64-bit driver!

As some people have said here already, anyone who's serious about music production uses 64-bit, and the fact that there isn't a driver yet is pretty poor for such a company.

There better be a driver here in the next few days, or I'm taking it back to the shop and Roland loses out on £1100-worth of my hard-earned pennies. Please sort it out!

Tired of waiting... I'm going to get the UM-1G adapter. Coinicidentally I got this email from Roland today..

"The Vista 64Bit drivers are in the final stages of testing and should be posted within the next couple of weeks.

I hope that this helps answer your request. If you need more assistance in this matter, please either re-submit your support request or contact our Product Support Department at the appropriate number:

Has anybody heard any movement on this? Is there any chance we'll be getting 64 bit drivers pretty soon? I purchased a 300gx about 2 months ago and while I love it, I'd love it even more if I had some working drivers for it.

I favourited this topic the day of its creation, and come back to check every week or so in my desperation. 13 of October now and still nothing (^Next Couple of weeks my [censored]) :( I think it would be fair to say that I feel indignation enough for us all considering I've had (and loved) my RD-300SX since late 2007 (or was it even 06, jeez..), and having upgraded to Vista 64x still haven't connected it up. Anyway, thought I'd register and try to keep this topic fresh...

I e-mailed Roland, haven't got a reply yet. Anymore signs of movement for you guys?
