I have an RD700 & love it but have just started playing in a band and need something lighter that still has great piano sound, weighted keys and excellent key action.....suggestions please. I am impressed with the casio px 320 for £500 - what does Roland have that is comparable (yes i know impressed and casio are not usually 2 words that you would expect to see in the same sentence!)

Hey Anna,

They are if you like calculators (sorry casio... couldn't resaist it) Have you looked at the RD300GX? It is almost exactly a RD700 in a lighter cabinet with a lighter (weight but not touch) action. This makes it easier for you to carry around but retains much of the feel of the RD700.

Which RD700 do you have? In my opinion the RD300GX sounds very like the RD700SX which is a big improvement on the original RD700.

The RD300 is certainly amongst the lightest in its class. Expect to pay abour £1100 for a 300GX though. But bear in mind; you get what you pay for. the Roland is a top quality product with a full 3 year parts and labour warranty included.

Good luck
