I have had the same trouble locating a Igb card for my Br600. the list of compatable cards given with the 600 is way out of date. All the cards listed are now not available from the manufactures. All the cards have now been replaced with faster speed cards. Could Boss now suppply a corrected updated list of compatable compactflash cards. or update the software in the boss so that we can use updated CF cards.

i bought a crucial compactflash card that did not work (stopped recording after a few minutes) so i bought a sandisk ultra2 1gb card and it works perfectly.

I want to give Roland a Big THANK YOU. I was contacted by the Roland service department at Swansea and they were concerned that I could not get a 1big card for my BR600.

To my surprise a 1gig card duly arrived FREE OF CHARGE in the post.

Again a BIG THANKYOU for a great service. I wish all companys were as good as this one.

There seem to be so many reported problems with 1Gb memory card for The BR 600 that I don't know how to be absolutely sure of compatibility before I buy. None of the catalogue numbers seem to tally with those on company websites so any developments since the last postings? I would like to be able to just pop into a local store such as Currys and buy one. When I bought the equpt I was led to believe that any compactFlash card would work and was readily obtainable. Urgent advice needed. Thanks

I gave Roland a call today, they gave me a new number 0800 1313 559 to call.
Apparently this is a 'Delkin' 1gig card that is the best for compatability with the BR-600.
It would be nice to have more than just the one card available don't we agree? Then we could at least compare maybe 2 prices after forking out to buy the unit itself just a week before.

Hi, I bought a Sandisk 1gb card from Asda and it works fine.
But, if anyone from Roland is reading this I wouldn't say no to a free one! grin

I agree that it would be good to have choice of make. It seems that users' experiences are very varied even with the same card e.g. the Sandisk mentioned. The only one recommended is the Delkin 'pro' one which retails at £30. Is the free phone number a Delkin or Roland number? (TMHT Shredder) I called Roland today and they will be sending me a 1gb card when they have more in- generous but necessary as I was informed by a Roland dealer when purchasing the BR600 that any CF card could be used and the machine would format it. As Roland must now know from all of us that that is far from being the case. I have been able to do very little with the 128mb provided. Perhaps future models will include the 1gb from the start? We still need a satisfactory means of obtaining more when needed though. Does anyone know why the BR600 is restricted to 1gb?

Monica the free number is a Delkin number.

When you say they have offered to send you one when they have more in stock, is that to say they are sending it free of charge?
As when I called I had no such offer as you guys seem to have had, must be my dislikable phone voice?

I am still in the market for the cheapest but still compatible card as I dont have much money left after buying the unit, not that it was over priced, I'm just not all that flush. I was however unaware the supplied card would be troubled recording even one 8-track song.
In my opinion supplying it with a 1GB card would improve customer satisfaction no end, there is nothing worse than starting a product up only to have to get back online and shop for add ons.

If anyone finds a cheaper compatible card, please enlighten us all! thanks.

Yes. I believe it is to be free of charge as I had had misguided info when I purchased the machine. Speak to Gareth. Asda sounds hopeful though if the Sandisk card is reliable. It's still more costly for just 1gb than I had expected on my limited previous experience of memory cards for cameras. I think the most positive way forward for Roland would definitely be to provide ths essential card on original purchase. Even on live 2 track recording (LV1) and after deleting demo track, the 128mb holds very little - 3-4 songs.
