Does anyone have either the RSS-FX or RSS-Stage software which came on floppies with the original RSS-10 unit?
Or even, though it may be too much to hope for, the Roland CD called Creating 3D audio?
If you have any of these please let me know - it appears Roland have put them somewhere and forgotten where.I had the floppies years back when I bought an original RSS 10 and after it sitting unused for years I need it again and can´t caontrol the thing. So frustrating.

there is a "programmers kit" on the ftp site, could that be what you are referring to?

Thanks for this. I've looked through it and not being a programmer 2 things occurred to me. The first is that even if I still had a WIn98 PC (or an emulator) I would still have to understand computer programming, which I don't by any stretch.
The second thing is that the part of the manual I understood - that which related to controlling the unit via SysEx messages makes me wonder whether it can then not just be controlled via my Nuendo's track automation? If it just runs via SysEx surely it can be done. I had a Logic environment years and years back which I built (sometimes that Logic Environment thing was brilliant) and which seemed to work more or less 100% from what I could hear...
Thanks, though. I'm getting closer and closer to something(!) working. You have helped a lot whether I do use the Programmer's Kit in some capacity or whether the FX and Stage floppies come through.
Thank you.

OK. I have RSS-FX and RSS Stage up and running in a virtual Win98 environment inside a Win7 machine.
Bizarrely, however, I thought I´d click on the RSS apps just to see if they´d come up and against my expectations they work perfectly - internally at least in Win7 - which has rather amazed me. So the software, at least, seems to work either in virtual Win98 or Win7.
What I can´t find is either the original Roland Serial MIDI driver for use with the RSS-10 or a suitable USB-MIDI driver with which I can bodge it in my Win7 PC.
Is there a suitable USB-MIDI driver I could use or failing that the original Serial MIDI driver? I´m lookin but I cannot see it anywhere....

And I am still nonplussed about the programmer´s kit. I guess you have to know stuff like HTML or something.
