hi all, I'm new here and I am very happy to find you guys! just few days ago I bought a Boss ME25 and I love it. My problem is the power supply....just got one from Dick Smith, a regular power supply 100 -240 input / 9vDC output. It works, but I have unwanted noises....with battery, works just fine. The question is, if I buy the original one, PSA 240, I'll have the same problem, or it will work better than what I got now? thanks in advance for any answer!

The Boss PSA ones have an in-line filter to remove the noise, you might have better luck with noise using an old bulkier transformer type power supply, if you have one of those around.

My advice would be, if you are not using the Manufacturers recommended power supply adaptor for a device designed to run on batteries, the mains power supply adaptor should be of the regulated + smoothed power supply type, to prevent unwanted mains hum, etc...

Fixed voltage, 9V or 12V, select polarity, Regulated Power Supply Unit:

These are different from the cheap, general purpose, Power Supply Adaptors

The manufacturers PSU are recommended for a reason but if the ME-25 is at fault itself I would defo suggest taking/sending it back to where ever you bought it from. Also make sure you register for you FREE Roland/Boss Warranty within 90 days. I tell all my customers this as its a great service for nothing and if you've bought elsewhere they dont tend to tell you about this.

In addition to a 12 month standard manufacturer’s warranty, all Roland Registered Users receive:

Additional two year warranty on Roland/Boss hardware products covering parts and labour.
Additional four-year warranty on Boss Compacts.
Free telephone technical support
Free online technical support
Free regular e-newsletters informing you of the latest product releases

Access to MyRoland which enables you to check which products you've registered with us - or register a new one - and also manage your communications preferences and personal info. All this is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week: you don't have to call during office hours.

Hope that helps

thanks for a info. my device was bought from e-bay, so except box, manual and CD, I don't have any paper...anyway, I'll see how is working with a original PSA 240...with battery, I have not any issue!
