I wonder can anyone help me?
I want to know if I can use the td20 brain from my keyboard as I am doing now with the Roland R8M, as i don't have the room in my small studio for the full kit?
Thanks

Hi Martin,

It is possible to trigger the sounds through midi from a keyboard, however, a note of caution. The TD20 brain unit has some very advance positional sensing technology in it. It is impossible to control that from playing a keyboard.

The result is you cannot get the full expressive capability of the TD20 when playing it from a keyboard controller. It is designed to be used with the pads of the TD20 for maximum dynamic control. Other pads may also not respond as well as the Roland TD20 kit pads.
