Hi Everyone

Does anybody know if and when a driver will be available for Windows Vista 64-bit version for the SH-210 Synthesizer? The 32-bit driver is available already. but no 64 bit version. It's really annoying that I can't use my SH-201 with my new rig. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Cheers

Just had a thought. Do I still need the driver if I were to just plug it in using midi instead? I have a creative audigy platinum drive with a midi port. I'll give it ago once I've got the right cables. Any news on the vista 64-bit driver though, that would have been so much easier.

Should work fine using MIDI connection.

Long live Windows 98!

Can Roland give an eta for this driver? confused

I have been using my sh201 for about 6 months and love it. Just upgraded my pc, needed 64 bit os. Everything is running nice but now no driver for the synth! Arrgh!

M-Audio have a driver for this os, surely roland can do it too!

Roland Corporation Japan has now released 32 and 64bit Windows 7 drivers for most of their recent instruments, including SH-201. Please visit the global Roland.com website and you will find the drivers under the "downloads" tab of your synthesizer's product page.

Very cool , but we are talking about windows VISTA 64 , and not windows 7

So what about a driver for vista 64 ??????????

I can't use correctly my sh 201 for 9 months because of the lack of driver's update.............

not a good publicity for roland products.

I have something of interest. I too have been annoyed by the lack of Vista X64 drivers (I chose this os for the 16GB of ram in my DAW, which the SH-201 is connected to.

So, I just spent an hour or so playing around with the windows 7 drivers....

You guys will be the first to recieve this little cookie:

I unleash unto the world- WINDOWS VISTA X64 SH-201 DRIVERS!!!

Just downloaded it, very excited! I emailed the Roland support team asking if they ever intended on making a 64-bit driver for Vista and they just emailed me a link to the driver downloads page... which as we all know, doesn't HAVE a download for 64-bit Vista. Made me wonder if they even READ my inquiry or just skimmed. So sad. These are the things that cause people to lose faith in Roland :( anyways thx much for the driver, going to test it out!

It occurs to me to mention that Windows Vista is a strange choice of OS!
Windows XP and Windows 7 are far more reliable as creative platforms.
Just a thought!

When I got my laptop it was RIGHT after Vista (x64 in my case) had just come out, it was just the 'new' operating system, I was willing to give it a try. I'll definitely say it was NOT the best of choices, but it's what my laptop has+I use it, and I don't see any reason why Roland should disregard it as an OS when updating drivers. On a side note, my desktop is running XP.
