Has anybody got any recemmendations as to usable sounds or tweaks on the FR1 V Acordion? I realise it's the entry level amchine, but to me the sounds are pretty awful - very electronic sounding and synthy. Through a PA it sounds like a cheap synth rather than a halfway decent accordion, especially on any sounds including the lower registers.

I'm beginning to despair with it and regret buying it in the first place... and help gratefully received!

I read somewhere of someone else with an FR1 complaining of the same thing and was told you can download a better choice of sounds. But I don't know how you do this as I am also a newby and have an FR3s in which the bellows are stiff and the batteries don't work the accordion. So I can't play out.

The only way of getting the new software (rev 2) on the FR1 is by sending the FR1 back to Roland after receiving a returns number. They will do the update for no money I believe. The only cost is you sending the FR1 to them. Unless you live next to the Roland returns shop, this may be expensive - they will return it free of charge, but check to be sure - I'm in the UK and this is the situation.

I've not found the sounds yuck yet, with such a variety to choose from. Using the manual you can tweak with a number of settings so the FR1 suits your own personal style - to a limit. grin
