Hi guys,

I guess this is not most famous MIDI controller up to date as well as I am a complete beginner to PC music but there is a weird thing I have noticed about my controller, which I recently bought on eBay - used.

I use Windows 7 64bit OS, and I have Creative X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty Champion Series sound card. My MIDI controller is connected to my PC via USB MIDI keyboard cable one like this:

and I have a Sustain pedal connected to controller - one like this:

For time being I am using trial version of Sonar 8 producer edition.

Problem I am having is that every time I press the sustain pedal, it triggers a note. Sometimes it doesn't. It depends on velocity used to push it.
But that's not all - when I move data entry slider on my controller (and same applies to bender and modulation) it makes a whole orchestra of sound... well more like a noise truth be told. Keys themselves work fine.

I have no idea why is it acting like that hence the topic.

Do you have anything else you can MIDI the controller to?

I suspect that USB-to-MIDI lead, as I've not had much joy using them in the past...

nope that's the thing I have nothing else.

I will try to change the lead to one that connects via gameport instead of usb.
Will see.

I was wondering about that, wasn't sure if the modern day Creative sound cards still had the 'SoundBlaster' joystick / MIDI port as part of there set-up.

Hopefully it should resolve the issue. Here's hoping..
