Hello guys,
I have to replace the battery on my old friend the XP-50, but I can't find no info-instructions how to do it. Unfortunately, there is no Roland service near me. Can somebody help me - much appreciated!!
I have a new battery, but I can't find where it's place is :((

I refer you to this very subject over at the Roland Clan forum..

As well as explaining how to back-up your internal memory before changing the battery (otherwise you will lose any special patches you may have), there are pictures showing you where the battery is on the main PCB.
You will need to remove the bottom plate to access the inner workings of the XP.
I find it best to lay a keyboard down on a bed, but any 'soft' surface (sofa, 2 cushions, etc.) will do.

You're lucky someone had a similar problem at a similar time.

Thank you very much for the quick reply, it was actually me who posted the 'same problem' on both forums in a despair ;)
now the battery's changed, just the display is little pale but maybe that will solve 'from itself' in a while?

Thanks again,

In the system menu there is a setting to adjust the LCD contrast, might be worth seeing if it can improve things slightly.

Glad you've sorted the battery..

Yes, system >contrast worked ok!
the synth hasn't been with me for a long time and I'd forgot everything about it... :(
Thank you very much again !
