Say I have a stereo input on Tracks 1 & 2 and a Microphone on track 3 Can I record a voice effect on one Track and a different effect on another track? or is only one effect available at a time if this is so can the effect level for each track be altered?
To be honest, I'm not sure, but I suspect, as do you I think, that it has one effect unit is on board.
You can use 'insert' effects for recording, but remember, once recorded, you will be unable to change or remove them once recorded.
Some of the effect programs offer a split guitar effect, and mic effect.
Insert effects can be routed in various ways (P 54 onwards in manual).
Loop effects (like reverb) can be added on playback, and level adjustment is possible, See P 83 onwards of manual.
Sadly I don't have said BR-800, and as it's fairly new, I doubt there's all that many users to offer a helping hand yet.
I thought I would at least offer some form of answer, even if it hasn't really offered much. I didn't want you to feel ignored.
I think experimentation, or even trial and error might be the order of the day.
Thank you for the reply, I have just been and bought one so I will find out one way or the other just what it can and cannot do? I tend to record Voice and Guitar at the same time and since the Guitar is coming via an X3 pro in stereo I really only need to have an effect on the voice track so I hope that this will be possible I will be testing soon so probably end up answering my own question lol.
Well from what I can gather, just 'inserting' the effect on the channel used for the vocal would work fine.
There are a couple of vocal / mic algorithms too, which might be handy.
Hi i've only been using my BR-800 for a short while now , but i post songs on a regular basis on a site called Songcrafters.org , which is made up of people who all use boss recorders , its a great site , and you will get all the answers you need on there
