Hi

I've attempted to install a 1 Gig Dimm expansion today, purchased from a site recommended on the roland clan forum. It is i belive as specified in the user manual and was clicked home fine. After install the Fantom G freezes at the logo page indefinitely.

I'm running on OS version 1.5. I've noticed on Roland Clan that others have been suffering the same issue recently. Does anybody have a suggestion for a way forward? I guess I could check the module at a shop if they'd let me? Or is it an issue with 1.5?

Hi

Roland have kindly sent me a 512 stick (guaranteed by them) and this is working. I've sent my 1Gig stick down to Roland UK for testing. It was bought from OEMPCWorld znd the spec listed on the invoice is the exact spec reuired (unbuffered etc). So awaiting results of Roland testing at the moment. It might be of course that I was just unlucky and recieved faulty RAM or what I was sent isn't actually the spec stated in which case I'll get back to OEMPCWorld.

I'll keep you posted.

I believe the spec says the ram has to be of low density or it wont work. I have 512mb in my fantom,I paid about £14 here in the uk. It was a while ago now but at the time the 1gb sticks where too dear and my cheap supplier couldnt supply 1gb sticks, see my earlier post in this forum.Interestly I have upgraded to V1.50 too and I am having save problems, I wonder if the is a connection with v1.50.
