roland xa multi timbral HELP PLEASE!!!

yooo wuts up peoples!

ive been at it all day! read the pdf manual... spent hours in the menus and inn fourms trying to get it to work and i know im probaly missing somthin simple.. but i cant figuer out how to get the multi timbral function to work with protools 8 .. i kno its not how i have the pro tools set up because ive gotten other synths to work the same way ... so i gotta b missing somthing in the fantom xa menus / set up

if any body has sucsees with this or n e knowledge of how to use the multi timbral setup regaurdless of sequence / softwear i would be much apriciative !!! n e thing will help thanx!

Took me a while to decode your message..

I'm at a huge disadvantage, as I don't own a Xa, in fact I don't even think I've seen one.
It appears to be a complex beastie. I assume this is a recent purchase too, and came without a hardcopy of the manual.
I'm not a ProTools user either.

Is it connected via MIDI, or are you using the USB connection?
What is, or rather isn't happening?


The manual recommends turning off local control when used with an external sequencer.(P197)

From what I can gather, in performance mode (the multi timbral mode) the 'keyboard switch' turns parts on and off. However I don't know if that refers to it's internal keyboard, or just generally allowing it to be controlled externally via MIDI. I suspect the latter.


I hope any Fantom owners can step up to the plate to help out here.
I don't know it the Xa has much in common with the current G series either.
