Hi all, I have just joined the forums am I a beginner on the guitar. I have just purchased ME-25 initially to practice using the headphones. However I would also like to be able to download additional sounds and and build up a library in order to take full advantage of the ME-25's capabilities.
I am completely new to sound effects, pedals etc so please bare with me. I'm using a Intel Mac computer and I cannot work out from the pdf re Librarian how to go about doing a back-up of the current sounds on the ME-25? Would anyone be able to explain in a step by step how to do this please. Your help would be very much appreciated.

Regards, Denis

Have you tried the document at the following link:
http://cms.rolandus.com/assets/media/pdf/INFOCUS02.pdf

Providing you have your USB driver loaded and the pedal is connected to the computer, you should not have a problem.

Hi and thank you for your reply. Yes I have got the INFOCUS2.pdf but was still a bit unsure how to proceed! When I connect up to my computer it appears to find my sounds from MW-25 and show them in the window. what I'm not sure of is do I now have to copy this info to create the back-up on my computer, and if I do will I still have the original files on the ME-25? Sorry but I am totally new to this and don't want to end up loosing all the data from the ME-25 unit. grin

Ok, Maybe I'm not explaining my problem well, so I will try again:

1. I have connected ME-25 to my Mac via USB connection
2. I start Librarian and it opens in the main Window
3. A small dialogue box appears and it appears to be reading ME-25's product data (sound
library)
4. After it's completed a list of names appear in the name column. Memo 1, 2 and 3 remain
empty. I'm presuming this list in the Name column is the ME-25's existing Library of
sound effects?

What do I have to do now to create Back-up on my Mac Computer (Save & Save As are grayed out in the file menu and everything except 'Select All' is grayed out in the Edit Menu)?

I would really appreciate some help with this as I am worried that if I go wrong at this point I will lose all my existing product data!

Hoping somebody can advise me. Denis grin

Hi Denis,
not sure whether you have anything different on the Mac, but in windows, the following applies:
1) with librarian running... plug in usb connection from pedal to pc
2) the sounds should automatically be read in.
3) Select File... Export SMF.
4) Select All Data
5) Enter a filename that makes sense to you
6) select Save.

That's it.. couldn't be simpler.

You have the option of only saving selected sounds... so the choice is yours!

Hope that helps.
