Just heard that there is a BR800 about to be launched (or may already be out there) I have been hanging on and not getting a BR 600 as I wanted to see what would happen with the memory cards.

It seems this new BR 800 uses SD cards - does anyone know what memory it can handle and also what features are new?

Cheers,

Davy

Hi Davy,

The BR800 is more than just a revamp of the classic BR600. You are correct to say it uses SD cards. These currently can be used up to 32Gb in capacity, so yes, it is compatible with SDHC meaning more recording time for you from your card!

New features include onboard looper - this is a really easy way for you to construct songs just like many bands now do live, DAW integration (use the controllers on the BR800 to control the faders in your DAW sequencer)and USB audio interface so you may use this in an integrated way with your Audio sequencing package on your PC or Mac. It is also bundled with Sonar 8.5LE which is a full featured audio sequencing package for PC. It now also features 4xXLR connectors with phantom power. This means you may now use any condenser mics you have without the need for another preamp, and you may record up to 4 parts simultaneously to individual tracks. The effects section has been improved with effects taken directly from our flagship GT10 and GT10b processors and also the VE20 vocal effects pedal.

Basically we have listened to what our customers have told us they need, and tried to produce a recording instrument which matches those needs perfectly. I hope you will agree, it is going to be a stonker!

Thats sounds great - I'm glad I waited. I will be having one of those pronto - are they out now or do you have a release date?

I have a BOSS centre near me so I am going to go to speak to them on Friday and hopefully get a demo

Cheers
