Hey guys

bought myself a lovely GT10 and i love it! I still have a lot to learn but i was wondering if you guys could give me a basic breakdown as theres somethings i cant get my head around..

I'm using the "4 cable method" into my bugera 6262 head, and i have overdrive on the patch to boost the gain and the whole thing sounds brilliant.

My question is regarding the 2 noise suppressors...I cant find any place in the chain where they get rid of the GOD AWFUL feedback i'm getting, i play heavy/death metal so high gain is a must, i've even toned down the gain/turned the OD off and its still there.

Also the stuff like OD, the S/R and my fx...i'm not 100% sure i have them in the perfect place in the chain, I've tried various times but i cant get my head around it!

Any help would be fantastic

Many thanks in advance

i don't think the noise supressors will help, try level matching the S/R loop with all the effects off, lowering the send level. The GT-10 preamps need to be either off or set to through if using you external preamp, or the gain will be too high with a double lot of preamp gain/drive.
It would be ideal to have the amp settings the same as if you did not have the GT-10 connected, and adjust the GT-10 input and S/R levels to match the amp, the ideal GT-10 output knob setting is 12 noon.

Hi gumtown.

I have the output set to about 9, if i set it any higher its way too loud+ even more feedback.
My amp head has to be on at least 2 to sound decent as its 120watt head. if i have the output any louder than 9 all hell breaks loose.
I fear i'm doing something very simple, wrong, haha.
The setting i use most is the GT10 preamp off. (i initialized the patch to make sure its fresh) then stuck some OD, EQ and play using my amps preamp, which is how i;d want it.
So that would mean it's NOT using the FX loop, is that right? if so how do i lower the signal output?

Cheers

You have the GT-10 connected in 4CM, so the connection goes..
Guitar > GT-10 input,
GT-10 S/R SEND > Amp front Input,
Amp FX Loop SEND > GT-10 S/R RETURN,
GT-10 Output L/Mono > AMP FX Loop RETURN.

The S/R effect needs to be "ON' and set to "Normal" mode.

Ideally you want the Level from the GT-10 S/R SEND to to your amp, to be same level as a guitar, so the S/R Send level may need to be reduced below '100'.
The OutPut setting in the SYSTEM menu is adjustable between -10dB and +4dB, check it is on -10dB.
