Bizarro problemo with my XP-10

Hello, thanks for reading.

So I got a second hand XP-10 synth and had a variable power pack with it. Stupidly, I plugged the thing in assuming I'd been given it with the right voltage but I was wrong. It didn't work and continued to not work but I only ever used that same power pack. That was a few months ago.

Recently, I tried it again with a different power pack on the correct voltage and it came on. I was so, so happy. But after about 5 minutes it switched off again. Then afterwards, everytime I pressed the on button, it would light up to show it was working but just as quickly turn off again.

I tried a different keyboard that usually runs of batteries with this power pack and the same thing happened. But when I use that power pack for its actual purpose (a BOSS Micro BR) it stays on as if nothing is wrong.

I don't understand. But I'm not the most adept at, y'know... knowing things.

If anyone can help that would be absolutely fantastic.

Cheers,

Carmen x

1) Was the polarity correct on the first variable power pack?
2) The Boss BR power pack may have been the correct voltage, and the correct polarity. However can it supply (see what I did there) the necessary current?
It may well of overheated and cut out on your first try..

You will require a 9 Volt DC 1A (1000mA) adapter. That said, the brochure mentions it only takes 360mA.
So one @ 500mA should work. Use a regulated supply!!!!
