I play a Roland RD170 in a blues/rock band, and it's a great keyboard. But when I'm playing piano -- which is usually variation 3 on stage -- the high end goes a bit quiet. I can't make the top couple of octaves cut through. Is there anyway to re-balance the volumes of the keys so as to boost the high notes without making everything else overwhelmingly loud?
I've not found anything in the manual with regards to boosting the high octaves.
Are you using a keyboard amplifier on stage, if so what?
Or are you using the main PA to make yourself heard (or a combination of both)?
EQ might help, I think some bass cut, and a little mid cut if you have it.
Is it possible to 'split' the keyboard, but have upper, and lower on the same patch?
If it is, then you then some control over the levels of the upper, and lower parts. You set the split point at the section of the keyboard you think it needs the boost.
I looked through the manual to see if it had key follow options as on many Roland synths, I was unable to find it.
Strangely, the pfd from the Roland UK site isn't as clear than the one from Roland Japan. The UK one is looks to be scanned in photocopy, and the sections which are important highlighted in grey become nearly unreadable.
