Here there guys,

i am interested for cube bass 100 but i think i will need an extra cabinet.
How about the watts and ohms for the extra and which cabinet i must choose to have a same speaker for the same sound?

Which are your proposal for cab?I’m seeing the GALLIEN KRUEGER MBX112 for 8 ohm and 100watt loudspeaker and for the only 5,5 kg her weight.

It must be lightweight the extra cab.

Please help me…

I think you’ve matched the extension cab pretty well.
The manual recommends an 8 ohm (min) 100W speaker, and the MBX112 fits the spec fine.

Why do you think you need an additional cab?

Thanks for the reply.

Well on loud drummer i dont know how can stand the 100 watts.I was rent an behringer 90 watts and sometimes i couldn’t listen myself. It was awfull.A complete disappointment.

I believe will the roland it will be better but not far better. And for that i want to be sure with external cab solution.

The GALLIEN KRUEGER fits perfectly in specs but on sound?Have you play with this cab and you are sure for the combine of speaker sound?

Another solution is the IBANEZ P110C PROMETHEAN with 250 watt on 8 ohm and 9,5 kg.

All other cabinets is far away on the weight.

Roland makes a cab for this??

Thanks again.

I see..

Well 100 Watts is not a lot in terms of actual power for bass guitar to be honest.

If you are trying to compete with a loud drummer you might need to look at a bigger amp, 300 Watts minimum.
Especially if playing on stage. The bigger the amp, the higher the weight.
I think the Cube 100 is more a practice amp. It does have a DI out, so it can be linked to the main sound system, the Cube 100 would then be your ‘local’ monitor, whether or not the drummer will hear you is another matter.

Roland make an extension speaker, sort of, as it’s actually powered. The D-Bass 115X along the same lines as I was thinking in terms of power output, but it weighs in at 27Kg.

I haven’t used said products, I don’t even own a bass..

Hi,

In these modern times, output wattage has less to do with the actual perceived volume a speaker emits. Amplifier technology has improved to such an extent that some 30 watt combo’s can sound louder than a 100 watt combo. Roland have pioneered much of this technology, and now for example have some very low wattage amp which are made on a microchip, but which produce much higher output than their size would make you think. For this reason, I would recommend you try the Bass cube 100 with an extension cabinet iin your local dealer, prior to purchase. You will be surprised at how loud this is. Similarly the Cube 60 had an extention cab output and this sounded massive when attached to a Marshall 4x12 rated at the correct ohms.

These smaller amplifiers have many advantages such as cooler operation, resulting in longer life of the product; lower weight, which obviously benefits your back; lower power consumption which is better for the environment and means many product may now be run for hours on AA batteries.

The Bass cube 100 benefits from manh of these features (though not battery power yet!)

Oh and the Dbass isn’t a suitable extension speaker as it is amplified. You need a passive speaker cab.
