Hi, I have a TK3KW problem with my CY5 HH, does anyone please know of this or a fix?

The CY5 works fine as a stick triggered device and the volume is good. The footswitch operates and damps the sound normally after a trigger by stick on the pad.

However, the foot pedal controlled HH "chick" when used on its own (no stick) produces a very faint sound. With the Cy5 set to (say) H03, and any setting of the level (say 12) the footswitch operated "chick" is almost non audiable.

The only way to get enough sound out of the kit to use the footswitch "chick" is by reducing all pad levels to around 3 and turning the CY5 up to max... however the stick hit is then as expected, deafening!!

Is this a known problem and is there a fix please?

Best regards

Hello Tony,

From what I can gather, the hi-hat closed sound is a separate item to the hi-hat trigger (the CY-5).
So set the hi-hat trigger for your liking.

To adjust the hi-hat closed sound (info from P41 of manual):

1.Be sure the POWER is OFF, then hold down [LEVEL/PAN] and turn on the power.
“Pedal Modify” appears in the scroll display, then the Foot Closed level is indicated, and [LEVEL/PAN]
flashes.

2.Press [+] or [-] to adjust the Foot Closed level.
Value: 0–15
(initial value: 10)

3.When you’re finished, press [DRUM KIT]; the [LEVEL/PAN] light goes off.

NOTE: Do not turn off the power without the [LEVEL/PAN] light having gone out. Otherwise you
will lose the changes you have just made.

Hope this helps.
