Hi Im new to Roland keyboards and I could do with some one to one tutorials from an experienced Roland Keyboard user. I bought an E-80 (very cheap on impulse) and to be honest im a little overwhelmed by it. I'm finding the manual hard going and there's not much on youtube to help.

If anyone lives in the North East of England and could help I would appreciate it. I would pay you a good hourly rate and I can travel upto 60 miles. I am not looking for someone to teach me to play, rather someone who can teach me how to use the features.

I hope you can help, if you can please let me know.

Steve,

If you can make it as far as Glasgow, and can bring your keyboard... (I no longer have one) and a video camera, you could get a bit of tuition from me which you are welcome to film for later viewing.

I know the E80 pretty well (I'd say inside out, but someone somewhere would surely be able to trip me up!)

Regards

Hi John thanks for the offer. Ive made some headway the last few weeks but I still think im only getting 10% out of it. If i don't get any better quick I might pop over to see you. One question though...when I record a song and save it to the hard disk and play it, and I want to play another instrument at the same time. It changes the song though when I do it to whatever instrument I changed to play! How can I play my recorded song and the keyboard at the same time without affecting the recorded song?

Thanks for any help John!

This only happens when you are recording your song by pressing record and playing in the song including the style. If you go into 16-track sequencer first and record one track at a time, this would not happen. The problem you are experiencing comes about because it associates upper 1, upper 2 etc to tracks within the song. There are enough sound generators available to make this unnecessary, but it is a way that I never used the E80, so I am unsure at the moment how to go about sorting the issue. I am certain that with the instrument in front of me I could figure it out though. Basically you have to find a way to dis-associate the parts from the tracks.
