RD 170—boost high notes?

I play a Roland RD170 in a blues/rock band, and it's a great keyboard. But when I'm playing piano -- which is usually variation 3 on stage -- the high end goes a bit quiet. I can't make the top couple of octaves cut through. Is there anyway to re-balance the volumes of the keys so as to boost the high notes without making everything else overwhelmingly loud?

Thanks very much!!

Hi all I've just bought a RD300NX. Still trying to find my way around it. Can anybody help me with this question. When I export a midi file from cubase to a formatted memory stick then put in the RD300NX all the tones are different?. I have the RD set to 16 part. Can you edit MSB LSB settings from the keyboard?.
Hope someone can help.
Hi,

I have just bought an RD300NX and can't quite get the piano sound I'm looking for - a bright sound but not a thin one. (More like the Yamaha sound really). Could anybody suggest how I can get a brighter sound - I find the range of things you can change quite bewildering. I could send a recording of the sound I am after if it helps!
cheers
Roland RD 700NX with the Yamaha FC7 expression pedal

Hi!

I got a question regarding the Yamaha FC7 pedal hooked up to the 700NX.
I want to use it as a volumepedal so when I press it down I'm going to solo on the piano and when it's not pushed down I just want to play with a lower volume in the background.

And yes I've got it to work as a volume pedal. It's on the setting "CC007, Volume".
But the problem is that I want to change the volume levels between "solo" and "background playing".

Either it is VERY loud or VERY silent.
Help please?

Thanks!!
How do you compare a Roland piano and a Kurzweil one?

I have the option of getting a Roland HP 1800 or a Kurzweil Mark 5. To me both look great, but I am a student without any experience with buying a piano before. These are both pre-owned. Insight is appreciated.

Thank you!

Roland RD300 SX piano sound vs Roland Integra-7 piano sound powered by Roland A-88 midi controller?

I have had a Yamaha P80 for 15 years and while it has served me well, the action is tired, technology has evolved and I am now looking for a replacement.

I looked at the products from Yamaha, Roland and Nord Piano. I got quite interested by the Roland RD300 and RD700 but was also recently intrigued by the Integra-7 sound module and the A-88 midi controller.

Is purchasing an Integra 7 that would be powered by the A-88 midi controller equivalent to purchasing a Roland RD300 or RD700 in terms of quality of the piano sounds, piano sounds' selection/editing and playability?

It seems to me that the A-88 comes with the same Ivory Feel-g with escapement weighted action. The integra comes with SuperNatural Grand Piano sound (perhaps the same piano patches used in the RD stage piano series?). While it is more expensive to by both the Integra and the A88 than a RD300 ... You have a whole full synth module and a quality controller.

How would the Integra-7/A-88 midi controller pair compares to the RD700?

I would much appreciate your views on this.

HP-136 keys not working and odd keys sounding…

Hi,

I bought this old baby second hand about 8 months ago and recently some notes have stopped sounding when played (the same notes) - this would suggest possibly broken hammers.

However, when I play a combination of the same 2 keys, another odd (consistantly the same) unplayed note sounds.

Not sure if this suggests something with the cpu or contact strip, but can anyone give me any pointers - I have found a blog with instructions on how to get to the hammers but am reluctant to dive under the 'hood' wothout a bit more advice...

Launch of the new RD-64 Stage Piano

Hi Guys

We're pleased to announce the launch of the new RD-64 stage piano today. It's a compact, 64 note weighted action keyboard with an authentic and expressive piano action feel. The SuperNATURAL Piano sound engine delivers superb acoustic piano tones. It's got all the essential sounds you'll need to cover today's music styles with a number of clav and organ sounds onboard.

For studio work or pre-production, a high-quality stereo reverb is included, along with two independent effects processors to add colour to your sound. There’s also a two-band EQ for overall sound shaping, with easy adjustment via two dedicated knobs. You can also connect an external music player for live backing tracks and practicing via a stereo RCA input.

Take a look for yourself and find out more:
