Can anyone tell me if the Roland Music style library BK-LB01 on their USB stick is just a duplication of the styles in the BK7M itself or are there lots of additional styles in there ? and also if you have one what is your opinion please. westmoors

XV-5050 64 Bit Driver creation

Hey Guys! I just thought for anyone out there looking for a 64bit driver for the XV5050, Roland have made it clear they arn't making one, but I got fed up today of not having one as it was the only device holding my system back from being fully 64bit compatible and decided to investigate piggybacking another Roland Driver.

The good news is I managed to do it successfully! The driver I based it on is the Edirol SD-80 64bit driver and the Fantom-v 64 bit driver.

By comparing the above two drivers, I discovered all but 2 files were the same (but with different model numbers), so I decided to open up those two files and edit them to the XV5050's specifications, and managed to create a fully tested and working 64bit driver for this device!

I must make this clear for legal reasons. Although i programmed 2 files in this driver, the bulk of the files are property of Roland and that must not be forgotten. I hope the moderators can see past this self programmed driver in order to allow people to benefit from it who would have otherwise lost the use of this hardware.

pm me for more details!

Roland BK7m problems

I have recently purchased a Roland BK7m which is advertised as being simple to connect to a range of instruments. I have two organs. A Roland AT800 and a Viscount Empire Theatre Organ. They both connect easily to the BK7m but with limited functionality in that both organs use midi channel 16 to send cc:11 expression messages. As they stand neither organ changes the expression on any part of the BK7m.
Using a Midi Solutions Event Processor I am able to map the cc:11 messages to other channels and then have expression on the keys and pedals but not on the rhythm section of the BK7m.

Does anyone have any suggestions how to make this work?

What is the simplest way to save patches from my JP 8000 to my PC

Hi All!

OK! I'm new to this so be kind!

I have just bought a JP 8000 and want to backup or save my patches from my keyboard to my PC and obviously download chosen patches back to the User memory.

I also have a SH201 that has a nice simple librarian app as well as a good editor but cannot find anything similar for the JP.

I did come across this AU/VST plugin from a site called Mystry Island that looks like it would do the job but it is just about to be released for the MAC with the Windows version following later so isn't of much help at the moment.

http://www.mysteryislands-music.com/?p=2582

Can anyone recommend a simple librarian app that will work with the JP and Win 7?

Cheers all

Help with Roland UM-ONE MK2, UA Apollo , Nord Lead 2x, Virus TI, Cubase 7

Hey all, I am _extremely_ frustrated as I just got a new Nord Lead 2x, Access Virus TI, UA Apollo, Cubase 7 and Mac Book Pro and I can't seem to get them to work together properly.

I'm using the Roland UM-ONE MK2 to put everything together via MIDI, and it seems that it's an impossible challenge.

First, I have my Nord Lead 2x as my MIDI controller, and it works just fine to play my VST instruments and my Access Virus TI, though I can't get Cubase 7 to actually play the Nord Lead 2x itself. I'm guessing this is because the UM-ONE 'MIDI in' cable is in the 'MIDI out' port of the Nord Lead 2x, though I have my Virus TI connected to my Nord Lead 2x by having a MIDI cable connect the 'MIDI out' of the Virus TI and the 'MIDI in' of the Nord Lead 2x; so I was thinking that the MIDI data would pass through the Virus TI and go into my Nord Lead 2x. However, I can't get it to work for the life of me.

The second problem I'm having is that when I'm recording the Virus TI through my UA Apollo (not through the USB input that the Virus TI provides) it actually hits the notes _before_ my VST instruments do (about half a second). This makes it so I can't record the Virus TI (or even use it) while I'm recording with other instruments as everything is out of sync. I've tried different sample rate sizes though nothing seemed to have fixed the problem.

I've read through the forums and tried setting up everything as an external instrument, though I just can't get anything to work properly at all.

If someone could please help that would be _greatly_ appreciated.

NOTES: In the Roland UM-ONE instructions it says that when you hit a note it should show the "MIDI out" port light up when you test it in "Audio MIDI Setup" in the Mac OSX settings, however it shows the "MIDI in" lighting up: ( http://collabshot.com/show/Qa85av ) . I'm not sure if this is expected functionality, a bug, or if it's even related, though I thought it was worth noting.

Thank you.

Jupiter 50 managing registrations for live work

As per previous posts, using JP 50 live. Unfortunately the registrations set up is not particularly great for live work, ie changing to another registration etc. this is primarily due to the fact you can't see them without actually being in each one, unlike for example the Juno G, where you have the live settings, and a window that lets you view as a matrix.
Anybody having similar experience? Any solutions? iPad ?

Input welcome

Jupiter 50 brass sounds

Using JP 50 as general synth as part of live set up, and having some issues with brass. The patches, which are all super natural sounds, are very orchestra orientated, and as such struggle to come across sharp, and seem to have a lot of attack, not very bright. I have been editing in so far as you can ( big drawback of JP is you can't really edit the supernatural sounds!), but struggling to come up with a good bright, sharp brass section, for use in pop, soul type songs.
Anybody any suggestions or answers?

Thanks

,whistle patch for Jupiter 50

Hi, hope someone can help. I'm looking for a whistle patch for Jupiter 50, for use in songs like moves like jagger by Maroon 5. There is a good one in the GM set on the Juno G, but JP doesn't have GM set, and closest is a piccolo which just doesn't cut it. Any ideas?

Roland SN-U110 series ROM cards vs 256D and 512E RAM cards

Does anyone out there know if it is possible to take a SN-U110 ROM card and convert it to a RAM card like the Roland 256D or 256E RAM cards?
Is it a matter of 'enabling' the 'write' bit
I believe the SN-U110 series don't have a 3v backup battery in them like the 256 RAM, so maybe its a OTP chip in there that can't be used as RAM?

I am interested in doing this because I need a bunch of the RAM cards, but they are hard to find, and expensive, but the SN-U110 is still common.
