Does anyone know if the latest OS for the E80 Keyboard and the AT800 series organs is going to be available to download soon. I believe it is now up to version 1.21 for the AT800.

Hoping someone may be able to help

We have been trying to connect a microphone into our roland and have researched endlessly and bought countless number of leads and no success.

We also purchased an amplifier as I was advised by Roland’s technical help but still no luck.

We may be missing something simple but if anyone can help it would keep our sanity!

Thank you

Hello.

I’m in the middle of a dispute with a courier who dropped my newly-purchased Roland 80X on its edge.

The impact damage is in the middle of the top front edge - right where it’s most visible. The bash is around an inch wide, and around 3mm deep (yep - I like to mix my units!) The leatherette material is torn and the material underneath visible. There are also horizontal splits emanating around 2” from both sides of the impact point suggesting that the cabinet case material (MDF?) has de-laminated in that area. For a powerful acoustic device, I suspect that is less than ideal.

In addition, one control knob is broken!

The courier wants me to try and produce ‘evidence’ of its new value. But don’t tell me how to do that.

A repair would not be cost effective; gluing, filling and recovering in vinyl would take hours of professional labour, so that would quickly exceed the value of the amp. A new replacement cabinet from Roland costs half as much as a NEW amp would, and then there would be labour to swap the innards.

I bought the amp on eBay, where it was described as being in ‘immaculate’ condition. And, apart from this impact damage, it certainly is.

It seems to function as it should, although whether the impact might cause longer-terms problems, I obviously can’t tell.

I paid £114 for the 80X - I was pleased with that price considering its very good condition.

Ok, what’s it worth now?!

Say you were looking for a Roland 80X, and you saw two for sale; one was immaculate with an asking price of £110, and another had transit damage with a bash on the front edge, with light-but-obvious splits in the case (and a broken knob!), how much would you hope to buy it for? Or be willing to pay for it? Out of interest, what factors would govern your decision?

Many thanks for any guidance.

(I can say that, for myself, the damaged amp wouldn’t be a contender; I looked around and chose this amp purely on its excellent condition, as that is what I wanted… :-( )

Hi,
Would anybody know how to age/get any information about a JC120 from the serial number?
The serial# is 084783
It was made in Japan
It has 2 x 60w Roland Speakers (really?? lol)
Ext speaker outputs
3 footswitch inputs
Main In.

I have had it around 15 years. Im pretty certain it is an 80’s model. Possibly 1984?

Hello -

I was recently given a JC-55 that was in pretty rough shape. It was “DOA” when I got it. I installed a new main fuse holder and replaced two smaller fuses that had blown on the PC Board. It powers up now, and I like the amp a lot. And of course the “Chorus” feature is great.

When I move the “Chorus” switch to the middle “off” setting there is a very noticeable drop in volume. Is that normal? If not, what should I be checking for? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Will

Hello all.

I’m looking to buy a 2nd-hand Cube for home practice use. I was open to getting either the 20X or 30X models, thinking that all that there would be between them is, well, 10 watts of power.

Having checked their specs, however, I find there’s a difference between the COSM amp models-

The 20X has: Overdrive, Distortion, Metal, Metal Stack & Tube Drive, whereas the
30X has: Black Panel, Brit Combo, Tweed, Classic Stack, Metal Stack, R-Fier Stack & Dyna Amp

Here comes the obvious Q - which one should I go for?

Thanks!

When connecting the M5 through the 40XL, I can’t get clean through the JC Clean setting when setting the M5 to off, same if I select the amps Lead setting, I get no clean. I can get FX, though. Clean works via mono plugs but. Anyone used/tested the M5 on this amp? Thanks.
