I've had this great piano for ten years but it has a 3.5 floppy disc drive for recording and playback which are becoming harder to find. Is there any reason why it couldn't be modified to take a CD, DVD or USB unit? Any suggestions gratefully received.
Hi,

I'm a Belgian resident and I would be interested in buying a Fantom G8 in an English online shop.

I was just wondering what would happen if the keyboard broke down and that I asked Roland Central Europe (in Belgium) to fix it.

I called them, and they answered me that it would be allright, since i had a 2 years warranty time.

I mailed them to have a written version of whath was said, but I got no answer from them until now.

So here's my question :

Do you see, on you bill, something written, where it's spoken of a "European 2 year-time warranty" ?

Can anyone confirm what Roland Belgium told me ?

If the Fantom G8 bought in England breaks down, can I go and fix it in the Belgian Service Center ?

Thanks for you help.

Regards,

Fred

        Hello Fellow Oscillators,

I'm looking for the specs on the Juno-Stage 76 synthesizer but I did not see it listed on Rolands's site. Has anyone heard one of these yet? Looks like a fun board. One guy said it had 80's sounds...my M1 was made in the 80's and used a lot...if this is an upgrade to the sounds I like from back then plus some I might like it a lot. A whole lot....same sound and engine as Juno's just before it? Need specs and midi implementation chart....can you split it up enough to get Polly after-touch where you need it I wonder....

Thanks John^^

PS Have old 106 in Hawaii that was damaged by Elec Co and is free if you have it picked up and shipped or are lucky and already there. Keys and sliders are great and midi works but chips are fried. I'm not in Hawaii...stored at old house location on N Shore Ohau. FREE!

My MC-909's Mainboard has died on me
this happened because the value Dial was broken off in transit
and the Potentiometer had been rip out the board damaging the circuit

the unit still powers and the sequencer works
but the sampler and velocity pads no longer work

how much would it cost for a new mainboard to correct this ?

"my unit is about 5 years old now" so no warrenty But if it's to costly
i might aswell just keep it as a sound module !

it's annoyed me as i really need to sell it to get some cash for the Fantom G6

Thanks in advance .. Jay

The proceudre described in the user manual for adding additional memory (SIMM) is not clear.

The slot is actually hiiden behind a piece of reflective black plastic on the expansion board. You need to carefully lift the (fairly rigid) piece of plastic, slide the memory behind it, and then install into the slot. The manual doesn't mention the black plastic!

I installed 512 MB of memory - which is vital to allow lengthy recorded audio (smapling mode).

I found a source on Ebay for 512MB of memory delivered for £20 to a UK address - well packed, too. It works, too.

This begs the question, why did Roland just no install a 512 MB SIMM as standard - really, £20 (and probably less as I paid postage) on a £1500-£2000 synth is nothing (surely?).
What was the rationale there?

Hi Guys

Just looking for some tips but I have just bought a new Boss GT10B (from Germany because of the customised case which for an additional cost came with the Unit, and at that time none was available in the UK.)

Just at the stage of programming some good sounds - but I would welcome some tips about how to switch in the bypass. Whilst the sounds are good, I have some excellent basses of the Musicman Brand (Stingray 5 and Bongo 6) as well as two good hybrid bass amps (valve pre-amps). I don't want to lose the bypass function which I am struggling to find after checking the manual and I want to avoid some elaborate cabling to put in a fresh line. Ideally, the expressive pedal to fade in and out the washed sound would be very much welcomed.

I would be open to some tips and instructions in this area.

Many thanks in advance...

Kind regards and blessings..

Ricks
